В Австралії спеціальне пристосування для селфі (так звана selfie stick) заборонили у головних галереях країни, побоюючись за безпеку людей та творів мистецтва.

Зрештою «логіка перемогла» і використання найбільш набридливого різдвяного подарунка  - спеціального штатива для селфі - у культуно-мистецьких закладах заборонили,пише Media Sapiens

Вона зазначає, що нині ця «хитромудра штуковина» все частіше трапляється в Австралії у туристичних місцях, ресторанах, барах, на робочих місцях і навіть у школах.

Реагуючи на це, австралійські художні галереї вирішили заборонити використання популярних пристосувань.

Згідно з повідомленням Herald Sun, галеристи пояснюють такий захід побоюванням за безпеку творів мистецтва та відвідувачів.

Про заборону використання палиць для селфі в Австралії, зокрема, оголосили Національна галерея Вікторії, Національна галерея Австралії в Канберрі та Національна портретна галерея.

Раніше такі правила були впроваджені у Музеї мистецтва Метрополітен в Нью-Йорку та багатьох інших американських та британських галереях
