Десятки тисяч людей у четвер вийшли на акції протесту у Польщі після ухвалення Сеймом країни суперечливого закону про Верховний суд в рамках проведення судової реформи.

Найбільша демонстрація проходила у Варшаві, мерія повідомила, що на вулицях зібралися близько 50 тисяч осіб. Поліція навела значно менші цифри - 14 тисяч.

Акції протесту відбувалися також у Познані, Вроцлаві, Лодзі, Кракові, Щецині і в десятках інших міст по всій країні. Загалом у протестах взяли участь понад 100 тисяч осіб.

Учасники демонстрацій вимагали від президента країни Анджея Дуди ветувати ухвалений Сеймом законопроект, який передбачає звільнення усіх нинішніх суддів Верховного суду та призначення міністром юстиції виконувачів обов'язків на їхнє місце.

Законопроект ще має ухвалити Сенат (верхня палата парламенту), не виключено, що голосування відбудеться вже сьогодні.

Згідно з пропонованою реформою, Верховний суд країни підпорядковуватиметься Міністерству юстиції. Глава Мін’юсту зможе самостійно призначати голів апеляційних та окружних судів, без консультацій з представниками органів правосуддя.

Також закон надає депутатам роль у виборі членів Національної судової ради - органу, який призначає суддів.
