Премьер-министр Турции Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган заявил, что «искоренит» сеть микроблогов Twitter в стране. Об этом сообщает турецкая газета Hurriyet.

По словам Эрдогана, власти страны уже имеют решение суда, которое позволит оставить Турцию без твиттера. «Меня не волнует, что скажет международное сообщество. Все увидят силу Турции», — заявил он, выступая на митинге в городе Бурса. С чем связано решение суда и на каких основаниях планируется ограничить работу твиттера в Турции, премьер не сообщил.

В начале марта Эрдоган уже говорил о возможности прекращения работы Twitter, а также социальной сети Facebook в стране. Тогда турецкий пример отметил, что это может произойти «в случае необходимости». Ранее он неоднократно негативно оценивал влияние твиттера на турецкое общество и утверждал, что через этот сервис распространяются недостоверные сведения. 25 февраля Эрдоган заявил, что с помощью подставных аккаунтов в твиттере распространяется информация, направленная против турецкого правительства.

В частности, речь шла о записях переговоров чиновников из близкого окружения Эрдогана, в которых содержались сведения о коррупции среди турецких властей. Эрдоган подлинность записей не подтвердил.
