Комітет з закордонних справ Сейму Литви прийняв заяву, в якій запропонувала не визнавати Олександра Лукашенка законним президентом Білорусі

У заяві зазначено, що "президентські вибори, що відбулися в Білорусі 9 серпня 2020 року, були сфальсифіковані".

Комітет закликав Сейм та інші литовські інститути не визнавати результати виборів у Білорусі і президента Лукашенка як законного лідера Білорусі. Там закликали провести нові вибори.

Глава МЗС країни заявив, що Литва буде домагатися персональних санкцій відносно осіб, винних у насильстві в Білорусі. Також Литва може ввести національні санкції, якщо рішення не приймуть у ЄС.
